Mechanic I - Electrician
The Mechanic I -Electrician is responsible for ensuring that aircraft and their equipment if functioning safely and efficiently. They service, repair and overhaul various aircraft components and systems including airframes, engines, electrical and hydraulic systems propellers, avionics equipment and aircraft instruments.


+ Performs installation and removal of electrical/avionic components on helicopters and or airplanes. Troubleshooting and repair of aircraft interface issues with electrical/avionic components, antennas, radar systems, navigations systems, and flight director systems.

+ Assists in the preparation of schematic and wiring diagrams, determines material specifications, assembles components, tests, perform trouble-shooting and repairs avionics electronic components as necessary.

+ Document maintenance as per Quality Assurance (QA) and established regulatory requirements.

+ Components/assemblies primarily worked on include radio equipment, navigation equipment, autopilot, automatic stabilization equipment, and aircraft instrument systems. Fabricates, assemble necessary wire bundles, mounting equipment and assists with the design of unusual configuration necessary to adapt projects to aircraft systems.

+ Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on helicopters and airplanes, completes inspections, troubleshoots, accomplishes modification work orders, completes operational checks, orders repair parts through the Coast Guard Supply System and makes forms and records entries on aircraft records.

+ Comply with processes and procedures as per DHS/Department of Defense (DOD) documents and publications.

+ Use Government computer system to access various technical references for airframe repairs and Government training requirements.

+ Research the technical library and other applicable technical documentation (such as

+ Manufacturers' and DHS/DOD maintenance manuals, service bulletins, engineering and technical data) to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

+ Operates motor vehicles in accomplishment of assigned work and assists with on-the-job training of other technicians. May be required to travel for remote work.

+ The Aircraft Mechanic I (Electrical / Avionics) may be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

**Job Requirements:**

+ High School diploma or equivalent.

+ Must be capable of wearing cumbersome PPE for Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) operations.

+ Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

+ Must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States.

+ Must possess basic computer skills.

+ Four (4) years of documented experience performing aircraft maintenance on DHS/DOD rotary-wing aircraft.

+ Four (4) years of documented experience in aircraft electrical/avionic installation, troubleshooting and repair.

+ Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance

**Preferred Skills:**

+ End of Line Experience (H60T or H65 Helicopters) is highly desirable

+ US Coast Guard Operational Experience is highly desirable
