Position Information

Here at WakeMed, the Pharmacy Technician performs all functions necessary to assist pharmacist(s) in providing safe, efficient, friendly and cost-effective pharmacotherapy services.

Experience Requirements

Prior Pharmacy Technician experience -or- graduate of a Pharmacy Technology program -or- actively enrolled in a School of Pharmacy is required. Prior hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred.

Education Required

High school graduate or GED required. Graduate of a Pharmacy Technology program -or- actively enrolled in a Pharmacy Technology program preferred.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

Required to be eligible for registration with NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of the date of employment. Required to be certified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board with the CPHT certification. NC Board of Pharmacy registration is required for all pharmacy technicians; the certification requirement is waived if the individual is actively enrolled in a School of Pharmacy.
