Department Description

Position Description
The primary function of this position is to provide routine and non-routine technical support to end users and business units of the Division of Finance and Administration. The position provides quality support of hardware, networking, and a wide range of technology applications.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
* Graduation from high school and one year in the field of technology related to the position's role.
* Computer coursework may be substituted year-for-year for the required experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Journey level requires an additional six months experience.
* Advanced level requires an additional one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Intermediate to advanced experience supporting, configuring, and maintaining PC hardware and software in an enterprise environment (Windows 7/Windows 10, Active Directory, Office 365, printing setup/configuration/troubleshooting, working knowledge of file servers, print servers). Knowledge and experience with TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting.
Special Physical and Mental Requirements
Responsibilities of the position require frequent travel of the UNC-Chapel Hill campus and the Town of Chapel Hill. This includes frequent pedestrian travel and transport of equipment which requires a valid Driver's License. Lifting/moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, manipulating hand tools such as screwdrivers and power drills, and performing tasks on ladders or enclosed spaces are requirements of the job duties for this position. Employee must be able to recognize and avoid hazards that can result in injury through physical, electrical, chemical, biological, or other means.
